Central College ranks high nationally as a top liberal arts college.
Named the number 37 liberal arts school in the nation by Washington Monthly, Central College in Pella was one of five schools in Iowa to make the national list.
The ratings are based on the college’s contributions to three categories: service, research and social mobility.
255 schools were ranked by Washington Monthly. The only other Iowa School to crack the top 100 was Grinnell College which came in at number 9.
Last year, Central students completed nearly 75,000 hours of community service. Commitments to the community are what make the school so successful, according to Central College faculty.
