TORNADO HITS: ‘Major Damage’ In NW Iowa

A mile-wide tornado reportedly struck north and east of Sioux City at around 6:30 p.m, the National Weather Service tweeted.

The storm first hit Wayne, NE reportedly damaging homes and injuring at least 13 people before moving in a northeasterly direction into Iowa. Tornadoes were reported in Hinton, Moville and Cherokee.

NWS also tweeted that there was “major damage from tornado in Quimby” that hit at around 7:30 p.m.
