DECORAH, Iowa — The Raptor Resource Project announced that the first bald eagle egg of 2019 has been laid in Decorah.

Mom Decorah and her new mate, DM2, are now tending to their first egg together. The egg was laid at 10:32 p.m. Friday in their Decorah nest.

The previous male eagle in the nest, Dad Decorah, disappeared last year while the pair were raising three eaglets. The Raptor Resource Project was not able to determine what happened to him, but they believe he is likely dead.

Mom Decorah accepted a new mate in October of 2018.

You can take a live look at their nest through their online camera.
