WOODWARD, Iowa — A boil advisory in Woodward has been lifted and the water is safe to drink again, according to Mayor Brian Devick.

Water service to the town was shut down late last Thursday when two water main valves failed, causing a loss of pressure to the town’s water supply.

One of the repairs was made quickly, but the other took longer because it was buried under ten inches of concrete. Water service was restored a little after 4:00 p.m. on Friday, but a boil advisory was put in place until the water tested safe for consumption.
