NASCAR says a 28-year-old will run the recently purchased Iowa Speedway.

Jimmy Small will manage the Newton racing facility. Small is believed to be the youngest president of a major racing facility in the United States.

The 28-year-old worked for NASCAR both in Daytona Beach, FL, and Charlotte, NC organizing pre-race activities and celebrations in the victory lane.

The sale of the Iowa Speedway to NASCAR was finalized at the end of November.

The Speedway will keep the previously announced schedule which includes three weekends in May, July and August.

Small says he wants to make those weekends memorable for fans.

“Our ultimate goal is to make an event weekend an unbelievable experience so when a fan shows up on a Thursday or a Wednesday they're having fun from the minute they arrive to the minute they leave and hopefully they don't even want to leave and are eagerly anticipating the next event weekend,” Small said.

Small also said any vendors waiting for money from previous owners will be paid in full within two weeks.
